Here's a sampling of vegetable cross-sections from this year's garden. Anyone want to take a stab at identifying them? Yes, I know it's a cucumber, but what kind (clue: the skin has not been removed.)
lemon cucumber, carrot, parsnip, sungold cherry tomato, yellow pear tomato, parsnip or potato, tomatillo or pul qua, Brandy Wine tomato and in the middle radish and beets

lemon cucumber-check
carrot - check
parsnip - no
sungold cherry tomato - check
yellow pear tomato - check
parsnip (no) or potato (yes)
tomatillo (yes) or pul qua (no),
Brandy Wine tomato (close enough)
middle radish (no) and beets (yes)
Six of the circles are different varieties of potatoes. That's the tricky part.

Cherokee purple tomato?
are those all different kinds of potatoes? really the only reason to grow potatoes is that the variety is just not available anywhere.

Not Cherokee purple, but it is an heirloom. I agree on the potatoes. The first year I planted Yukon Gold only to find them for sale in the grocery story for .50 cents a lb. I go with the variety pack of funky potatoes at Northwest Seed. There are four varieties of potatoes pictured. Three of them are the same variety just with a different look.
